Drone-based crop detection and targeted treatment.

YUAN combines drone sensors with detection and segmentation models for plant counts, crop-health analysis, area measurement, and targeted treatment planning.

Drone-based crop detection and targeted treatment.

Challenge

Large fields, hillside orchards, and densely planted rows take time to inspect on foot. Blanket treatment also applies material to areas that may not need it.

Solution

YUAN's drone system uses onboard sensors plus detection and segmentation models. Demonstrated crops include sorghum, red beans, and hillside plum trees. The system produces plant counts, crop-health measurements, and area coverage that can be used to plan targeted treatment.

Key benefits

A targeted workflow may reduce blanket spraying and manual field checks. Actual treatment accuracy, chemical use, crop response, flight safety, and operating cost depend on the aircraft, sensors, model, terrain, weather, and application settings. The platform can also be configured for irrigation management, soil analysis, and yield prediction.
