YUAN benchmarks a Yocto-based Linux image on Pandora.

YUAN reports up to 75 percent lower baseline resource use and an image up to 98 percent smaller than its Ubuntu comparison for the tested configuration.

At COMPUTEX, YUAN is demonstrating the Pandora Developer Hub with a Yocto-based Linux environment on NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX.

The image removes desktop services and graphical components that the target workload does not require. This leaves more memory, storage, and processor time available for the deployed application.

In YUAN's internal test, the Yocto configuration used up to 75 percent fewer baseline system resources than the comparison configuration.

YUAN reports that the tested Yocto image was up to 98 percent smaller than its Ubuntu-based comparison. Results depend on the included packages, services, kernel configuration, and measurement method; teams should compare images with equivalent application and security requirements.
